Drum lessons by Alejandro Sifuentes

Sobre este curso

Starting drums can feel overwhelming: four limbs, new sounds, and the question of where to begin. This free online course is designed to turn that confusion into a clear routine you can actually follow. From your first groove to punchy rock and punk patterns, you will develop coordination, timing, and control through focused lessons and quick exercises that build on each other.

You will begin with the essentials of playing a steady beginner rhythm and learn how to lock your hands and feet together without tensing up. As you gain confidence, you will add drum fills that make transitions between sections sound musical instead of random, helping you move from basic patterns to real song-like drumming. Along the way, you will strengthen your hands with practical note-value practice inside a single measure, improving consistency and endurance while keeping your sound clean.

Speed is a common goal, but it only matters if you stay relaxed and accurate. The course guides you through techniques that support faster hands and better rebound, including a focus on finger control and an efficient push-and-pull approach, so you can play longer without fatigue. You will also give your kick drum special attention with targeted exercises that improve precision and power, ideal for players who want stronger groove and better control at any volume.

To make your playing sound more professional, you will explore dynamics and detail, including ghost notes that add texture and depth to rock beats. You will practice easy rock grooves with an emphasis on keeping the bass drum and snare equally dependable, so your time feels solid to other musicians. Finally, you will bring it all together with energetic punk-rock drumming by practicing the parts in a smart order, so speed, accuracy, and stamina grow together. If you want a structured path into drumming with a practical, play-along feel, this course gives you the foundation to start sounding like a drummer.
