Learn French A2 by Language Fluent

About this course

Ready to move beyond basic French and start speaking with more confidence in everyday situations? This free online A2 course is designed to help you progress from simple phrases to more accurate, natural communication. You will strengthen the foundations that matter most at this level: understanding common conversations, building clearer sentences, and choosing the right tense to talk about your life, plans, and experiences.

Through short lessons and practice-style exercises, you will work on essential verb patterns and how they behave in real speech, including common -re verbs and key forms like attendre and venir. You will also gain a practical feel for the past tense, learning how passé composé works and how auxiliaries affect meaning. As you advance, you will learn to express future intentions with the simple future and add nuance with the conditional to make polite requests, suggestions, and hypotheses.

Grammar becomes much easier when it connects to daily life, so the course places language in familiar contexts: family, friends, relatives, food, and places at home. You will practice forming negative sentences correctly, using high-frequency prepositions, and giving instructions with the imperative. Alongside structure, you will build better sound awareness with focused phonetics and pronunciation tips, including common rules for plural endings. To improve comprehension, you will also train your ear with listening through stories, a powerful way to internalize rhythm, vocabulary, and sentence patterns.

The course also helps you write more confidently, including practical formats like invitation letters, so you can communicate politely and appropriately. A revision and test-style session at the end supports consolidation and exam-oriented practice. If your goal is to feel more comfortable in conversations, travel with less hesitation, or prepare for an A2 benchmark like DELF, this course gives you a clear, structured path to steady progress.
