MySQL Database by HuXn WebDev

About this course

Knowing how to work with databases is a core advantage for anyone building modern websites and web applications. This free online course on MySQL helps you move from basic concepts to practical, job-ready skills you can apply immediately in web development projects. You will learn to think like a developer who designs reliable data structures, writes clean queries, and understands how information is stored and retrieved behind the scenes.

You will start by grounding yourself in the essentials and clearing up common confusion, including how SQL relates to MySQL and why that difference matters when you move between tools and environments. From there, the focus shifts to everyday tasks developers perform constantly: recognizing which database you are working in, discovering what tables exist, and building confidence navigating a database safely and efficiently. These fundamentals are small on their own, but together they remove the friction that slows down development work.

As you progress, you will practice making sound design choices that impact performance and maintainability. You will learn how to select appropriate data types for real fields such as names, and how to set up an auto-incrementing primary key so your tables can grow predictably while keeping records uniquely identifiable. These choices become the foundation for everything else you build, from simple CRUD apps to more complex systems.

The course also strengthens your ability to retrieve information effectively using pattern matching with LIKE, a skill that supports search features and flexible filtering in web applications. By the end, you will be more comfortable translating requirements into structured tables and queries, reducing bugs and improving data consistency. If you are aiming to level up as a backend or full-stack developer, this MySQL course offers a clear, practical path to stronger database confidence.
