Newborn Photography by SLR Lounge

Sobre este curso

Newborn photography is equal parts artistry, patience, and safety. This free online course helps you capture those fleeting first days with a calm workflow that protects baby comfort while elevating the look of your images. You will learn how to recognize the ideal time window for a session, how to set expectations, and how to move through a shoot with confidence even when things do not go perfectly. The goal is to help you create soft, timeless portraits that parents love, without relying on complicated gear or risky setups.

A strong newborn session starts before you ever press the shutter. You will explore practical ways to prepare your space, choose gentle lighting, and use inexpensive accessories that make natural light easier to control. The course also guides you through foundational posing concepts, including classic positions such as the back pose, with an emphasis on stability, support, and keeping baby relaxed. Just as important, you will pick up real-world strategies for comforting a newborn during the shoot so you can maintain a peaceful pace and capture authentic, serene expressions.

To finish, the course brings your images from good to polished with straightforward editing. You will learn how to prep an image for texture, avoid common misconceptions that can make skin look overprocessed, and build a Lightroom preset approach suited to baby and infant photography. You will also practice creating clean black and white conversions that turn simple frames into gallery-worthy keepsakes. Whether you are photographing your own child, building a portfolio, or adding a new service to your photography work, you will come away with a safer process, stronger results, and a repeatable workflow you can use right away.
