Using the Collaborations Tool on Canvas

Collaborations are a great way to encourage group work in your class.

Collaborations are integrated with Google docs to allow students to work together synchronously or asynchronously on a shared document.

Create as many collaborations as you need with up to 50 collaborators.

You can assign Collaborations to individuals or to pre-defined groups.

Adding or removing user access is as simple as clicking on student or group names.

As soon as you click “Start Collaborating” a new Google Doc will open in a new window and will have all of the sharing permissions set up to match what you selected.

Collaborations will bring a whole new way of working together in your class.
