Using the Inbox Tool on Canvas

Easily accessible from anywhere, the inbox or Conversations tool is your go-to way to communicate with your students.

Click on a conversation to view and reply to messages.

You can adjust the view of your inbox to show all messages or you can show messages from a particular group or course.

You can also change your view so that you see only unread, starred, or sent messages.

Composing messages is more efficient – you can select which course your recipients are enrolled in and you can send messages to all users with a specific role, or you can select an individual.

You can add both file and media attachments to messages too.

All messages will be stored and managed online in the Canvas inbox and will copies of messages will also be emailed out to the recipient’s preferred email address.
