Covering Climate Now: Chris Hayes, MSNBC
I mean, I want to do a lot
of good climate coverage. I want to find ways to tell
compelling stories about it to communicate the
basic framework.
I mean, the thing I've really
been focused on recently is trying to hammer
home to our audience that, generally,
I think is already kind of on board in an
abstract sense with the fact that climate change
is happening,
it's being caused
by human activity, and that we have to
do something about it with the sort of framework
of the IPCC report because it's like a set
of numbers that are maybe slightly technical,
but just important
to really get in their heads. Like, we need to cut emissions
in half by 2030, net zero by 2050. That's ambitious, that's man
on the moon kind of territory.
News media can no longer be complacent when it comes to climate change. Over 150 media outlets have joined Columbia Journalism Review and The Nation to commit for one week from 9/16 – 9/23 to report on how our actions have been devastating to our planet. Chris Hayes, host of All In with Chris Hayes on MSNBC, shares his perspective. See CJR’s full series here: https://www.cjr.org/covering_climate_now/
