Evans Bass Drum Head Reviews

Evans EQ3 – Bass Drum Head Review

have run in this video I’m going to demo the Evans eq3 bass drum head now this has been one of my go-to bass drum heads over the years I just love the attack I love the sustain and I love the kind of

flexibility that the head offers Kay it’s a two-ply head but each ply is only six and a half mil thick so the total thickness is 13 mils which is nice because if you do like the the

durability of a two ply head you can get that with that but you still want some of the sustain that a one ply head offers right and so I think this head is kind of a good and in between so if

you’re not sure what way to go this way head would make a really really great choice and it works for a lot of different styles of music this head is like I said 2 ply and on the inside it

has this internal dampening ring along the outer edge of the drum head and that just really helps to control those unwanted overtones and that unwanted sustain so you could crank this head up

really tight and you can get like a really nice tone of the drum or you could crank it down and sometimes these things are like almost loosened off completely and I just get a nice kind of

slap on the bass drum had tons of attack tons of punch and so I love this I’ve recorded with this head a lot and I really really like it so I’m playing a little bit more for you guys just to

show you how it sounds you
