Practice Pad Workout For Beginners – Drum Lesson (Drumeo)
(upbeat rock music) Hi my name is Issah Contractor and I’m here at Drumeo. I have a five minute practice pad workout
that you’re gonna love and it’s made for beginners. Now this exercise is five minutes long and it’s really
simple, effective, but it has some stickings that you might not have encountered before. So I’m gonna start off
by breaking down each bar and then we’re gonna do the workout together for one minute each, totaling for five minutes.
So grab your pads and let’s do this. So number one, right, left, right, left, right, right, left, left.
(sticks drumming) Right, left, right, left, right, right, left, left. Okay that’s number one. Number two, right,
left, right, right, left, left, right, left. Right, left, right, right, left, left, right, left. Right, left, right, right,
left, left, right, left. Now number three is right, left, right, left, left, right, left, left. Right, left, right, left,
left, right, left, left. Right, left, right, left, left, right, left, left. Number four, right, left, left, right, left, left, right, left.
Right, left, left, right, left, left, right, left. Right, left, left, right, left, left. And number five, the last one.
Right, right, left, right, right, left, right, left. Right, right, left, right, right, left, right, left. Right, right, left, right,
right, left, right, left. Alright so let’s do this whole workout, one minute each bar, for a total of five minutes at 120 beats per minute.
Let’s do this. One, two, three, four. Right, left, right, left, right, right, left, left. Right, left, right, left,

Here’s a simple, effective, 5-minute practice pad workout! It’s targeted towards beginners, but drummers of any skill level can benefit from this. There are 5 patterns total which you do for 1 minute each!
If you have a Drumeo P4 practice pad, try moving these exercises around the different surfaces! For example, try playing the first four notes on one surface and moving to another for the second bar. Or split up both hands completely! Who knows.. You might just come up with some cool musical ideas you can move to the kit!
