A QUICK SUMMARY:
———————————-
There exists more than one model and many opinions as to how to define one’s vocal range and voice type. Some people go so far as to deny the existence of vocal registers at all, though they are in the vast minority.
Many still use the old model of chest voice, middle/mix voice and head voice, which is falling out of fashion due to the existence of newer and better models. In this vocal range test series you’ll learn what I believe to be the best model today, and it certainly maps perfectly to my own voice.
We start by asking the question, “when discussing vocal range, are we talking about the full sound making range or only the singing range?” We must also define the distinction between “vocal range” and “voice type”, as they are different.
All of this is explained in the main instructional video as well as at the page linked to above at the Vocal Nebula website. Feel welcome to ask a question in the comment section.
