「Learn Japanese」 なら Construction – CLAUSE1ならCLAUSE2 as “if CLAUSE1 is the case, CLAUSE2”

「Learn Japanese」 CLAUSE1ならCLAUSE2 as “if CLAUSE1 is the case, CLAUSE2”

The なら grammar construction is commonly categorized together with the ば-Form and the たら-Form as the conditional/hypothetical grammar constructions. In the case of the なら grammar pattern, it is mostly used as a response to newly attained information and acts as a statement that is contigent upon said information. In other words, “in that case (CLAUSE1), then CLAUSE2.”

This grammar pattern can be used with verbs, adjectives, and nouns, all of which should be in the Plain-Form. When this grammar construct is used in the past, plain た-Form, the particle の is commonly added between the た-Form word and なら (this is inclusive of verbs, both types of adjectives, and even nouns). For な-Adjectives and Nouns, です(だ) are not included when the な-Adjective or Noun is being used in the non-past, non-negative form, but its respective conjugation is used for all other forms.
