Negative Form:

When the negative form of this grammar construct is used with an い-Adjective, there are three available options to be used instead of そう: そうじゃない, そうではない, and くなさそう (of course, for the first two, ない can be replaced with ありません).

Example(s):

最近、ジョージワシントンは嬉し（そうじゃない/そうではい/くなさそう）（です）。
Saikin, George Washington wa ureshi (soujyanai/soudewanai/kunasasou) (desu).
(It doesn’t seem like George Washington is happy lately.)

When the negative form of this grammar construct is used with an な- Adjective, there are four available options to be used instead of そう: そうじゃない, そうではない, じゃなさそう, and ではなさそう (of course, for the first two, ない can be replaced with ありません).

Example(s):

この仕事は簡単（そうじゃない/そうではない/じゃなさそう/ではなさそう）（です）。
Kono shigoto wa kantan (soujyanai/soudewanai/jyanasasou/dewanasasou) (desu).
(This job doesn’t look simple.)

When the negative form of this grammar construct is used with a noun, there are only two available options to be used instead of そう: じゃなさそう, and ではなさそう (of course, for these two, ない can be replaced with ありません).

Example(s):

あの人は先生（じゃなさそう/ではなさそう）です。
Ano hito wa sensei (jyanasasou/dewanasasou) desu.
(That person doesn’t look like a teacher.)
