You will hear me say this over and over,—the absolute key to vocal training is that we are “replacing inhibitor behavior with exhibitory behavior”. When you keep this in mind your rate of improvement will accelerate.
We when do vocal exercises we have a choice,—we can go through the motions and simply make sound for the sake of making sound, or we can pay close attention to what we are hearing and feeling in our voice. When we feel the inhibitory reactions activating,—squeezing, constricting, and dampening our sound, we must recognize this and make realtime adjustments to correct things.
Have a listen and let me know what you think.
