In this lesson of Waku Waku Japanese, Konomi goes over a few handy words that can be used in many situations.

sumimasen – excuse me / I’m sorry
sumimasen, kore wa ikura desu ka? – excuse me, how much is this?
arigatou (gozaimasu) – thank you (informal / formal)

So use these words when you want to call out to someone or thank them.
